Pallet Floor Scales

Looking for pallet floor scales?

Many businesses today are involved in shipping and receiving products.

Whether you are importing, exporting, or just moving items within our country, you’ll find that weighing pallets of product becomes an important part of your business.

Whether you’re concerned with figuring your freight costs or you’re selling your products by weight, keeping accurate weight records will only pay off in the end.

Pallet scales may be more suitable for your business than a pallet jack scale if you are weighing in bulk or it may be more convenient for you to have a handy floor scale for weighing incoming and outgoing pallets.

When shopping for pallet scales, there are a few things to look for.

How much weight can the scale hold?

Is it movable or must it be attached permanently in place? How easy is it to use? Is it NTEP certified?

Does it record or print out weights?

Does the display use batteries or does it need to be plugged in?

Does it fit your needs? How about your budget?

Scales should be made of durable steel, and have a good tread pattern for safety.

Ramps may be available for easy loading and unloading of pallets.

The alternative to ramps might be a floor scale that is built into the floor itself so pallet trucks could roll right onto it and unload.

If you are going to put it directly into the floor, make sure you get a pit frame to rim the edges.

Some are even available that are horseshoe shaped so you can maneuver your pallet stacker right between the tines of the horseshoe and lower the pallet onto the scale.

Horseshoe floor scales can weigh either 5,000 pounds or 10,000 pounds. Ramps are not needed with horseshoe shaped floor scales.

A battery-operated digital indicator is included with full keypad set up.

Calibration is pre-set, and scale offers gross/net/tare and weight accumulation.

When choosing your pallet floor scales, make sure it is NTEP certified (Legal for Trade).

Any goods that are exchanged for money must be weighed on a certified scale.

NTEP stands for National Trade Evaluation Program, and every certified scale will be inspected periodically by your state’s department of Weights and Measures.
