procedures and why they are important for a safe working environment.
Remember, a safer work place makes for safer and happier employees.
Operators Only Please
It is important to make sure that only certified – if necessary, and trained operators for the pallet jack operate the machinery.
This should be straight forward for all employees and you should make sure that the necessary personnel has the training required. Restrict
any untrained person from operating the pallet jack to prevent injury and accidents.
A Weighty Matter
Each pallet jack has a maximum load capacity for which it is rated, be sure that your operators never exceed this limit for safety
purposes.
Each pallet jack has a plate in which the capacity is dictated. Make sure that every operator knows where this plate is and knows just how
heavy or large the load can be.
No Riders Allowed
Make sure it is against your policies to allow employees to stand on the pallet jacks or
ride on them.
Gradual Is the Way To Go
When operators gradually stop and start the pallet jack, they will be taking steps to prevent any kind of slippage, be sure that your
operators are trained in this area as well.
Manual When Needed
When your operators are maneuvering around obstacles, walls, or taking an incline, make sure that they are pushing or pulling the manual jacks
for safety purposes.
A Spotter May Be Useful
In areas in which obstacles are a plenty and the operator may have an obstructed view of the area, have a spotter ready to help them with the
load by guiding them in the appropriate direction.
Rember, each pallet jack safety procedure is extremely important in maintaining the good health of your workforce..
